Our house was built in the 1940s. I love the tile in our bathrooms. Whoever picked it out had great taste. ;) It's hard to imagine that this classic tile has survived the 1960s mod movement, the avocado green and harvest gold of the 1970s, and the teal of the 1980s.
Sometimes I wonder about the dozen or so people who have lived in this house (yes, it's been that many) and wonder who made what decisions. Who decided to install the built-in bookshelves, who decided that green and white tile and all laminate in the kitchen was a good choice (that was part of that late 1980s mod time), who planted the lily of the valley in the backyard beds.
...Bathroom reno starts Monday. It's really not going to look all that different, just newer. When I laid down a piece of the new tile on top of the old, it became painfully obvious just how old that original tile was.
