...I have finally decided how I am going to make my Olympic dream come true.
PREGNANT SWIMMING!
So I joined a pool at a small college near us. And except for the lifeguard who made a snide comment about how I wasn't there for very long (hello! Let's strap a 15-pound bowling ball on YOU and see how long you last butt face), it is generally empty.
And let me tell you, there's really nothing sexier than a maternity swimsuit. Mine is the tankini kind. Only problem is that between belly and excess fabric, I appear to be wearing nothing on the bottom.
Whatever.
So I was on probably my second lap the other day (and by lap, I mean take 10 minutes to swim down one way and stop) when I look up, and what do I see? A big fat college tour group.
I now know how the fish at the National Aquarium in Baltimore feel. Trapped. Very, very trapped.

awesome! We're joining the Y in a couple of weeks when they have a big special going on. I can't wait to get in the pool!

Oh, my gosh, that brings back memories. When I was pregnant, we went to the beach ALL the time. We're talking daily -- especially in the third trimester, since it was soothing and gave me the illusion of being weightless. Oh, and as for the maternity swimsuit -- I have pics. HILARIOUS, in hindsight.

How about the other element of pregnant swimming? The part that includes swimming that long lap while trying to keep the tankini around your belly? I found it hard to swim and not show eveyone my belly. Enjoy the weighless feeling. Hopefully your son enjoys the swimming too.
