...I didn't know, until a few days ago, that Charlie is named not only after his great-grandfather, but also after his great-great-great-great-grandfather Charles:
(I see the family resemblance in the hair part, no?)
And here is my great-grandfather Harvey, his wife Louise, and his sister Amanda. (You might see some of my oldest friends comment here and call me "Laura Lou" - my middle name is Louise after my great-grandmother).
(My dad thinks I look like Louise...I'm not so sure. I do, however, think I have the same hat...)
Here is my Pop Pop Charlie with six of his siblings (he was one of eight) - he is on the far left. I love this photo of him. He looks so healthy. We swore as he aged he started to look younger and younger:
And finally, a photo from our family reunion. I am related to all these people. Wow. I am front and center.

I love the legacy of Charlie's name! My girls are both named for their grandmothers. Will is a junior, but the name William goes back for at least seven generations of first-born sons in my husband's family (either as a first or middle name).
Thanks for sharing the great family pictures. Where are your mom and dad in the last one?

Charlie was named after his great grandfather and his great, great grandfather and coincidentally he was born 100 years to the day of his great, great grandfather arriving in the united states from sweden. i love that there is history to his name :)

Wow. This is an awesome post. I am really getting into family history right now. :) I actually found a photo of my great great (great?) grandmother on ancestry.com. So cool.
