...do you remember this?
My family has been on the internet since Al Gore invented it. My first AOL screename was "FriendL" (and I probably could have gotten, "Friend," or "Laura," if I wanted it, we were that early in the game).
For the last five months, I have been living in the internet of the early 1990s. We live in the middle of the woods and not a whole lot of providers come back here. That video you sent me of your kid laughing as the kitten licked her face? Yeah, I never watched it. Sorry.
But last week? The internet gods arrived and I am back to 2012. Monday, when Charlie was at school and Clara was napping, I sat out on the porch and browsed and opened 4,793 windows at the same time, listened to Pandora, downloaded from iTunes, and sent multiple 40mb files. It's good to be back.
Speaking of back, my mom is home. Thank you for your thoughts...But please keep them coming as this is just the beginning.

I don't know what to do with myself if I'm in a place without wi-fi. Welcome back ;)

Oh my gosh... I remember sending prodigy messages that printed out to 'send' an email.
Email before everyone had an email ...
Oh you have been living in the 'dark' ages.
Just think you can tell the kids the story of when they were little and you lived without full internet for months!
Still praying for your Mom... And you.

That is awesome. :) Once upon a time in middle school I did a report on "electronic mail" that was SURE to be the future of technology...my dad had a Ham Radio and had some random Ham radio mail that was a precursor to email that I used as an example. My teacher told me it was nice, but very unlikely that the ideas I talked about would ever become a common means of communication for the general public. HA!

so happy you are online the fast way! enjoy!! and as far as your mom goes, I think of her daily, every time I come to your blog, so she's is in my thoughts, sadly cancer has been a big part of my extended family, so I know it's not an easy road to travel and that lots of thoughts and prayers are needed... :) hugs
