I was young when we moved. Too young to remember much. Probably my fondest memory is our neighbor, Ray, and his introduction to Sesame Street. I have the revolutionary-war era horseshoe that was tilled up out of our yard in Newtown resting on our mantle in Maryland today.
I wish those were the only things I associated with Newtown. I wish Newtown was only known as the birthplace of Laura Kurz, C-List Scrapbooking Celebrity. I wish you could put your child on a bus, drop them off at a front door of their school, their school, and know they were safe.

I am sorry for your new memories.

so very sad, our prayers are constantly with those families...i only hope they know that! pop over to cathy zielske's blog and she has a quote from mr. rogers about looking to the helpers...there is some good that comes out of a tragedy...and that is the willingness of humans to help..

we all wish that, although things are changing here, my daughter's middle school has had cops patroling the halls since last week and the preschool my little man is in, the doors are locked while they are inside...sad to have to do that, but you can't trust anyone :(
