Visited the Cliffs of Moher today. The sun decided to shine just as we walked up the cliffs:
It's so much more colorful than I expected!
Took a carriage ride through Killarney National Park with Charlie, the horse. He was a retired racehorse and really showed off!

The shuttle driver from the airport swore that a glass of Guinness would cure jet lag. Well, Ken is asleep next to me as I type this, so I would say the driver's remedy had an opposite reaction. :)
It is beautiful.
It started out feeling a little bit like the Amazing Race with a four-hour delay at the airport last night.
Today after arriving and getting settled in and trying not to go anywhere near anything we could sit on for fear of falling asleep, we walked through the town of Bunratty.
Some cute, cute, cute shops here. I could do some damage on day two. I was looking at this display and Ken said, "You could get the K." I said, "No, I want the whole thing." Ha.
Off to lala land, which I've been fighting all day. :)
My husband got a camera.
Which means I might (actually) have a picture of myself in front of the camera.
Today was a day of beauty for Charmer (in preparation for Ben's arrival). Bath for Charmer. Class reading for me. Picture taking and laundry for Kenny.
Charmer was exhausted from all the beautification.
...And tomorrow, with the premier of the new season of How I Met Your Mother, all is good in the world again.

I'm pretty sure I have never seen that little (1) next to my e-mail icon. Preparing for a vacation always involves emptying out your inbox, right?
I got the work week calendar in my inbox today and on Thursday for next week, someone had written, "Ireland!" and highlighted it in green. Think someone's trying to tell me I need a vacation? :)
Meet Ben...
Ben and his mom Erin will be staying with Charmer while we're away. Charmer's grandparents are a little worried about the bad influence he might have on their precious granddog.
Ben's a Ravens fan...Hence the purple shirt and the uh...Natty Lite. He also, in person, bears a striking resemblence to Snuffleupagus. We have often wondered if perhaps Ben is really just a man in a dog suit. The Natty Lite makes me even more suspicious...
We have a visitor from down the street this weekend.
I don't talk about my job a whole lot here, do I?
Well, I love my job.
I am lucky. I have bad days. I am challenged. I have good days. I am rewarded.
One of the most recent rewards has been a new project - launching a new program. And because it's really in its conceptual phases now, we need some help getting our audiences to envision what could be.
And this artist, Lisa Adams (whose awesome illustration is to the right) is going to help us do that. And I just can't WAIT to see what she comes up with.
Almost makes editing the 750 names in the student roster entirely worth it.

September is here! We drove to the beach on Thursday night during the summer and came back today in the fall. Suddenly at all the roadside stands mums and pumpkins appeared overnight. I shall wear white all day tomorrow in mourning of the end of summer.
...In other news: My husband is a happy man today. Our neighbor two doors down is a Michigan alum. Ken's roommate from USNA is a huge Michigan fan. Did I ever mention Ken's from Ohio? Really, enough said. He said first thing tomorrow he's putting out the OSU flag. Let the games begin...
...In other news: I start...class...on Wednesday. 2 cool 4 school no more. Back to grad school. It's a readings class, which I'm really looking forward to actually. At least I'll have lots of material for the plane and bus rides while in Europe! One of our assignments is to select a memoir to present to the class and offer a review. Any suggestions? Already read The Glass Castle and A Million Little Pieces (I know, I know, not really a memoir). Carron (momma to Camden) made some great suggestions, including Three Cups of Tea and Shattered Dreams: My Life as a Polygamist Wife (the BIG LOVE fan in me finds this mildly intriguing).
